I looked over at Sis. Allie as we swung over the edge of the Royal Gorge. Her face was white with fear as she gripped the railing in the car. “Serena, what if this car falls…. or the ropes snap…or….” “We will die quick and will never know what happened!” said Bro.Matthew. Allie rolled her eyes. “That’s not funny.” Melissa wasn’t fazed at all by the fact that we we’re dangling between two cliffs with nothing but air underneath us. Sis.Andrea Bauer also, sat happily on the bench munching on some cheese nips while exclaiming how beautiful the view was. Even though we we’re going like 2mph, Bro. Matthew said “Wow, we are going so fast!” Lol. When we got off, we found ourselves climbing hills to the few sparse attractions that we’re available at the Royal Gorge. We found the slingshot which we decided not to do. Bro.Matthew and Allie we’re arguing who was going to go on the zipline….(which cost 50.00 a person for 50 seconds) Who was going to pay? Was it worth the rush of adrenaline as you zip-lined over a gorge? Me and Melissa had already decided that we we’re not going to do that since we saw a helicopter that was offering rides for the same price as the zip-line. I think the heat got to Bro.Matthew because after taking a moment of sipping on a blue raspberry slushee and sitting under a tree, he decided to ride the helicopter- along with Allie.
30 minutes later….. we all we’re standing next to a beautiful helicopter taking a group picture. And guess what else? The pilot let me ride in front! Allie was so excited she kept talking the whole ride and telling her sister Melissa that this was the most awesome thing that we ever did, and when she can- she is going to fly one day:)
A new quarter is under way! And though many things stay the same a few things change. In the Sunday school department a few exciting things have changed! Sis Denise and Sis Jane are starting of this quarter as the new teachers. With so much to look forward to they are diving right in! Stay tuned as the kids learn to follow Jesus’ example. Their first Sunday they talked about being a servant. Here are the children with their servant puppets!
The last two quarters have been a journey from the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus through the exciting events of the book of Acts! We followed the apostles as the preached with out fear, Peter on the day of Pentecost the conversion of Paul and many more.
The kids have done so well memorizing the important points and memory work along the way. They have learned the Fruit of the Spirit, the 12 disciples, the Lords Prayer, and the books of the New Testament among other things. As the gospel spread from Jerusalem the kids kept a passport for the record. And hopefully the theme of the Great commission will stick with them.
“GO ye therefore and TEACH all nations Baptizing them in the name of Jesus!”
Thank you for the pleasure of working with each and every one of these children these past several months! I hope they have enjoyed it as much as Sis. Corina and I have!

Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Isaiah 58:5-7 – Showing to others the mercy &that is within all of us! Fasting was never intended to get things for ourselves, rather to help lift a spiritual burden & oppresive spirit that battles against the weak…
“God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.” 2 Sam 22:33
Why do men seek out perfection? – Ambitions, goals & dreams of ours it is enough for all of us to examine our path… Is this pathway we are walking on leading us into a more excellent & perfect way? – We must allow Gods STRENGTH & POWER into our lives today, The Supernatural takes place in our lives & then will our direction become more defined to everyone that “We are in the perfect will of God”
“A man who follows God is always on the right path”
17 “But if, while seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves have also been found sinners, is Christ then a minister of sin? May it never be!
18 “For if I rebuild what I have once destroyed, I prove myself to be a transgressor.
Everyone seeks after Gods approval, however upon discovery we find ourselves building upon the once ruins of our distant paths…
The Christian race is a lifetime of achievements & failures, focus not on the falls – but get back into the battle with much more determination than ever before!
